CLASSES · JÁVEA & ONLINE

Find a class that fits your body and your schedule.

Classes run throughout the week, outdoors in Pinosol Park and indoors at Bodhi. Complete beginner or twenty years in — there’s a place to start, and a place to go next.

New to Tai Chi and Qigong? Here's the short version.

Tai Chi and Qigong are ancient Chinese arts of movement — and here, they're taught with real depth and precision. Nothing watered down, nothing turned into a vague waving of arms.

The approach is therapeutic, and it starts with how your body actually moves. To practise Tai Chi well, the body has to learn certain things: the hips have to open, the shoulders and neck have to release, the legs have to get genuinely strong, and the whole structure has to move as one connected piece. Getting these mechanics right is the real work — and it's exactly this that makes the practice so good for you. As the movement improves, so does the body. Old injuries ease. Posture rebuilds. The mind settles. Not because the classes are soft, but because they're precise.

Qigong works the same territory from a different angle — simpler repeated movements, breath-led, a faster route into the calm, focused state that Tai Chi builds over time. Together they may be the most complete training there is for a strong, mobile body and a quiet, clear mind. At any age. From any starting point.

Train the art. The health comes with it.

The Weekly Schedule

Most people aren't sure which class to start with — that's normal. Have a look, then reach out and I'll point you to the right one.

Foundations of Tai Chi

Huang Style Traditional Tai Chi

Monday, Wednesday & Friday · 8:00

Bodhi Health & Studio

The deep groundwork. This class focuses on rebuilding how your body actually works — strengthening the legs, opening the hips, and retraining the structure so real skill can develop. Alongside that, we work through the Tai Chi forms and take time to relax the body and settle the mind.

Good for all levels, including complete beginners.

Outdoor Group Class

Yang Style Tai Chi in the park

Monday & Wednesday · 10:00

Pinosol Park

Our mixed outdoor group — brand-new beginners alongside longtime students, working the basics every session in the fresh air. A relaxed, friendly way to build your practice outdoors. A second Monday & Wednesday session at 11:30 returns in September."

Good for all levels, including complete beginners.

Advanced Practice

For experienced students

Tuesday · 9:00 (10:00 from September)

Pinosol Park

Experienced students — ask Jay if you're unsure.

Tai Chi Weapons: Sword & Fan

Traditional weapons training

Thursday · 9:00 (10:00 from September)

Pinosol Park

Focused study of the sword and fan, refining coordination, precision, and intent. A beautiful and challenging extension of the empty-hand practice.

Some experience recommended.

Qigong and Nei Gong

Breath-led movement

Friday · 10:00

Pinosol Park

A faster lane into the "flow state" — simple, repeated movements led by the breath that get you feeling the practice rather than thinking about it. Calming and restorative.

Good for all levels, including complete beginners.

Somatics

Teach your body to let go of chronic tension

Wednesday · 19:30

Essentials

4 classes / month

For people who want to stay active, relaxed, and connected to the practice without a heavy weekly commitment. Enough to maintain mobility, unwind the mind, and keep the fundamentals alive in your body.

Foundation

8 classes / month

The pace where steady progress starts. Your body doesn’t fully reset between sessions, so posture, balance and strength begin to build on each other. For students who want a solid base.

Evolution

12 classes / month

For students ready for noticeable change. The practice stops being something you attend and becomes something you do — deeper stances, calmer breath, real strength. Where most committed students land.

Mastery

16 classes / month

For dedicated practitioners committed to real consistency. Training most days builds refined coordination, a deeper understanding of the form, and conditioning that carries into everything else you do.

BEST FOR REAL CHANGE

Common Questions

Quick answers to the questions that come up most.

Almost certainly you can come — that’s exactly who this training helps most. Jay’s background in bodywork and rehabilitation means the movement gets adapted to what your body can do, then built from there. If you’re unsure, message Jay first and he’ll tell you honestly.

No. Most students here started as complete beginners — several after surgery, injury, or years away from exercise. Every class works the basics, and Jay adjusts the training to the body in front of him. The only exceptions are the Tuesday Advanced and Thursday Weapons classes, which are best once you’ve built a foundation.

Comfortable clothes you can move in and flat, flexible shoes. For park classes, bring water and sun protection in summer. Everything else is provided.

Most classes run for an hour; the Thursday Weapons class runs 90 minutes. Check the schedule above for exact times.

A full online school is coming soon. For now, you can train one-to-one with Jay through private online sessions — the same close attention to how your body moves, from anywhere in the world. Reach out to set one up.

Bizum, bank transfer, Revolut or Wise for international students, or cash and card at the school. Details are provided when you join. All rates include IVA.

Just switch to the tier that matches how many classes you’ll actually attend that month, then switch back when you return. Much cheaper than paying drop-in rates.

Not sure where to start? Just ask.

Tell Jay what you’re looking for — or what your body’s been through — and he’ll point you in the right direction. No hard sell. Just a straight answer.
